He received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from the Petroleum University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2001, the M.S. degree in computer engineering from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in cognitive neurosciences from the Institute for Studies in Fundamental Sciences, Tehran, Iran, in 2009. From 2010 to 2014, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar with iLab, University of Southern California. He was a professor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and UCF. He is now with HCL America as a data scientist. His research interests include visual attention, active learning, object and scene recognition, and cognitive and computational neurosciences.
